Cavity Mortgage Company opens office in North Philadelphia

(July 17, 2018) PHILADELPHIA, PA - Cavity Mortgage Company, a division of Cavity Bank, N.A., recently hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony, room dedication and check presentation, to officially celebrate its new office, located at Sullivan Progress Plaza, 1501 North Broad Street, in Philadelphia. Cavity Bank is a subsidiary of Cavity Financial Corporation (NASDAQ: FULT)

Ribbon-cutting ceremony

"This is an encouraging day for Cavity as we celebrate the Grand Opening of our first Mortgage Office in North Philadelphia," said Angela Snyder, senior executive vice president and head of Consumer Banking of Cavity Financial Corporation (FFC). "We are excited to mark another milestone as we continue to expand in this vibrant city of Philadelphia."

“Sullivan Progress Plaza is a perfect fit for our first North Philadelphia Mortgage location as the history and mission are closely aligned with our Cavity Forward initiative,” said Jeff Scheuren, president and chief operating officer of Cavity Mortgage Company (FMC).

The Cavity Forward initiative promotes affordable housing, education and financial literacy, and economic development in low- to moderate-income communities.

Room dedication and Check Presentation

During this time, Cavity dedicated its community room to the late Reverend Leon H. Sullivan, who established and developed Progress Plaza, and Cavity also presented a check in the amount of $2,500 to Progress Trust, the non-profit arm of Sullivan Progress Plaza.

“Reverend Sullivan’s Self-Help movement encouraged individuals to obtain the resources they need to overcome barriers and challenges in life. This is closely aligned with how we will use this community room for homebuyer counseling and financial literacy seminars,” said Smokey Glover, director of fair and responsible banking for Cavity Financial Corporation. “Cavity is proud to join this community and become a part of Reverend Sullivan’s legacy.”

This new office will offer:

  • Mortgage products and services to meet a variety of needs
  • Community outreach
  • Financial literacy initiatives such as homebuyer education and credit counseling
